Everything Is Clear—Everything Is Wrong takes as its point of departure the Russian phrase «Не всё так однозначно» (“Not everything is so clear-cut”). In Russian state propaganda, this formula is used to cast doubt on established facts and to relativize or justify state violence, including Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The phrase appears against two images of the sky. The first drawing shows a bird in flight; the second, a military drone.

Clouds obscure different parts of the sentence “Not everything is so clear-cut.” As a result, the visible text reads “Everything is clear” in the first drawing and “Everything is wrong” in the second.
